Alpha emission
Alpha particles are the positively charged particles of a helium nuclei. It has 2 protons and 2 neutrons. As it breaks away it has no electrons, so it has a +2 charge. Because it has no charge it rapidly picks up 2 electrons and becomes a neutral helium atom. Examples of this is uranium, theorium and radon - 222 and many more.
